Monthly Dinner Meetings

Please note new location and costs.

The cost for dinners is $30 for members and guests. The cost is $35 for non-members . RSVPs are required by noon on Tuesday before the meeting for both members and guests. The cost for Students is $15. Students need to send a reservation request to reservations@ismdallas.org to assure discount pricing. Space will be limited to registered associates. If you show up at the door the cost is $35 for dinner if available. Otherwise we will not be able to seat you at a table, but will try to seat you in chairs around the wall, first come first served.

DARE TO LEAD: CPSM PILOT TESTING PROGRAM

CPSM RETAKES, CPSM EXAMS, AND THE BRIDGE EXAM

The ISM-Dallas affiliate will be offering exams hopefully August 16th and 23rd.
Exam 2 and exam 3 on August 16th and exam 1 and the bridge on August 23rd.

Pilot participants receive one retake per exam at $50. In addition to that, ISM is offering a price incentive to groups testing for the new CPSM exams and the bridge at a cost at $90 per exam for ISM members and $135 per exam for non-members. Barb Taylor is working on getting space at Texas Instruments for taking the exams. Please send email to Mary Walker if you are interested in taking the exams.

Registrations for the exams are required to be received at National at least three weeks prior to test date. Deadline to the ISM-Dallas affilliate will be Monday, July 21, 2008. Please fill in the attached form and send to National as shown on form and also send copy to me: mewalker@hagemeyerna.com

If you fail to send form to national and copy Dallas affiliate, you will not be able to take the exams. Also bring photo identification to the test site at TI.

Hubert T. Fuller Award Presented to Jim Hogan, C.P.M., CPIM

The Hubert T. Fuller Award is the highest award bestowed by our local organization. Its purpose is to recognize those members who exemplify true professionalism in their daily responsibilities, have performed outstanding service within the local affiliate and are an asset to the community.

This award was named in honor of the affiliate’s 1970 president, a purchasing manager with Mobil Oil Company, who devoted many hours of his time to the success of our association. Only members of ISM-Dallas are eligible.

August Dinner Meeting

Seven Strategies to Better Negotiation and Better Results

This Negotiation program is designed to provide professionals with practical advice to enhance their ability to be more effective negotiators in the workplace. Participants will learn successful strategies for negotiation based on the most advanced research. The program offers an introduction to a systematic approach to mastering the fundamentals of making favorable agreements that minimize conflict and maximize results.

Michael T. Colatrella, Jr. is a teacher, mediator and attorney. He is Director and Senior Lecturer at Southern Methodist University’s Center for Dispute Resolution & Conflict Management in Plano, Texas. He also served on the full‑time faculty at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law from 2000-05. He teaches in the areas of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Mediation, Negotiation, Lawyering Skills, and Civil Trial Practice.
