Hubert T. Fuller Award

The Hubert T. Fuller Award is the highest award bestowed by our local organization.  Its purpose is to recognize those members who:

  1. Exemplify true professionalism in their daily responsibilities. 
  2. Have performed outstanding service within the local affiliate. 
  3. Are an asset to the community. 

This award was named in honor of the affiliate’s 1970 president, a purchasing manager with Mobil Oil Company who devoted many hours of his time to the success of our association.  Only members of ISM-Dallas are eligible and it is indicative of members who are true professionals.

Harold M. Cosgrove Award

The Harold M. Cosgrove Award is named in honor of a pioneer member of the Tulsa Association who was an ardent worker for the purchasing profession.  The award is given each year to an individual in the Southwest Forum in recognition of outstanding achievements and distinguished service for the advancements of the profession of purchasing.  It is the highest honor that the Southwest Forum and the local associations, through their nominations, can bestow.

In 2007, two awards were presented:   The Dallas affiliate has more recipients than any other affiliate in our five state area.

ISM Names Persons of the Year

Supply Chain Professionals Are Honored for Their Contributions to Supply Management

(Tempe, Ariz.,) May 8, 2007 — Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) has announced its Persons of the Year Awards, honoring those who have made significant contributions to ISM and the supply management profession. Each winner was officially recognized for their contribution at ISM's 92nd Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit, held in Las Vegas, May 6-9, 2007. In its seventh year, the Persons of the Year Awards program recognizes excellence in Education/Learning, Innovation/Creativity, Leadership, Marketing/Communicating and Volunteerism. The 2006 ISM Persons of the Year recipients are:

Education/Learning Person of the Year — Jim Gomes, C.P.M., ISM—Dallas, Inc.

Jim Gomes, C.P.M., employed by Nokia, exemplifies the ISM spirit through his contributions to the profession. As second vice president of education for ISM—Dallas, Inc., Gomes is responsible for providing programs for dinner meetings and pre-dinner meetings, implementing satellite seminars, maintaining the library and working with the scholarship program as well as career fairs. Gomes also is involved in both the planning and teaching of seminars, and he coordinates two five-day training sessions per term of office. In addition, Gomes works with the director of the student affiliate at University of North Texas. He often speaks at their monthly meetings. Gomes is also the recipient of the 2005-06 Presidential Citation Award, an award given to a member that has shown exceptional work and dedication to the ISM—Dallas affiliate.

Awards

On May 9, 2006, ISM announced the 2005 award winnersfor the Persons of the Year, Affiliate Excellence and Groups and Forums Excellence award programs at the 91st Annual International Supply Management Conference and Educational Exhibit held in Minneapolis. All recipients have gone beyond the regular scope of work to make outstanding contributions to ISM and the supply management profession.

Affiliate Excellence Award

The Affiliate Excellence Award Program recognizes those affiliates that have demonstrated excellence in their professional operations, educational offerings, recruitment, training and retention efforts, while at the same time communicated the value and prestige of the Institute for Supply Management™. Each year, the selection begins with the designation of excellence for those affiliates that reach the Affiliate Excellence Award program level of excellence. For the year 2005, 10 affiliates reached this level of excellence:
